Even a quickly grabbed photo can be interesting. There are no inky blacks or blown highlights, and you can practically feel the fabric’s texture.

New Work!

BW photo of shadows on white curtains

This photo of the shadows made by wood blinds is the first of what I hope will be many new photos. Enjoy!

Please post your questions and comments below.

It’s been awhile…

My break from blogging was longer than I expected.

A lot of things have happened the last few months, but very little photography. While I won’t go into detail, let me just say that I’m glad to be back. I will be posting new images, shot with the iPhone and edited on the iPad, in the next few weeks.

See you soon!

So I’m going to Fort Monroe next Sunday morning.

As at o’dark thirty. Sunrise shoots aren’t my usual thing, but the light should be nice. I’m taking the Nikon and the phone. Photos should be good.

If I don’t freeze to death.

I’m at the end of the road for NancyGoldsteinPhoto on Etsy.

I’ve tried my best for a couple of years, but it’s time to face the truth: my Etsy shop is going nowhere. I’ve put it on vacation and will close officially on New Year’s Eve.

I’m still a photographer; nothing can change that.

This blog, and my main blog,, will remain active. I don’t plan on posting to either again until early next year. Maybe I’ll post more often now that the pressure to be a financial success is off my shoulders.

Thanks for reading this. Thanks following me. I’ll be back in a few weeks.

This is exactly how I feel right now.

Distressed black and white photo of a dark reading chair and light pillow

I’ve got a slight headache, it’s getting dark, and it looks a little dreary outside – in other words, your typical early fall evening. I’m seriously thinking about grabbing my knitting and heading off to my reading chair after dinner.

Rocket Launch

I’m going to photograph the rocket launch this evening; it’s another chance to break out the 80-200! I have no idea what to expect but if I get anything good I’ll post it tomorrow.
